Being as the Driving Room 101 feature went so well, we thought we just had to take a look at some of your favourite driving tunes. On Tuesday, we put the word out on the @MotorMistress Twitter channel to see what really gets you going when it comes to your in-car music choices.
Once again, it was a task that I underestimated. We had lots of – very welcome – suggestions and soon realised that it was going to be tricky to try and sort them all out. Do we choose actual songs or artists? Or do we go for albums?
Rock seems to “Rock”!
One thing that was quite apparent is that the rock genre featured more than any other. The majority of suggestions cited some sort of guitar-based anthem, artist or album.
There were a lot of old-school anthems and artists or groups that have spanned a few decades; the choices varied wildly and did not in the slightest seem to be based on the actual age of the Tweeps concerned.

The Journey into Work

What do I think? After listening to some of the suggestions that I wasn’t so familiar with when compiling this piece, I have got some new tracks to add to my own playlist!
If you ask me what I think the ultimate driving anthem should be, all I can tell you is that the artist’s initials are FM: if you love Formula One you will know what the tune is already. Just can’t beat it.
