Honda Civic Type R Concept
As you will know if you read our blog on the BMW Geneva Motor Show Line-Up, the highly anticipated annual show starts just next week; running from 6th March through until the 16th.
Out of all the manufacturers, we think that Honda have really got some interesting vehicles to bring to the table this year. As well as the Worldwide Debut for the Honda Civic Type R (Concept model), there is also the exciting new Fuel-Cell Electric Vehicle Concept car, the FCEV.
Civic Type R Concept
Honda call it "a racing car for the road" and much like its predecessor, that's really what it is. The styling is very much based on the production model that is due out some time in 2015; it features the same sort of strong lines and "expressive styling" that people have come to associate with the Type R - it certainly hasn't lost its way in this department.
FCEV Concept
What a sight to behold - the FCEV Concept underlines Honda's commitment to green car technology; and as far as my money is concerned, they are hedging their bets well. According to many, fuel-cell cars are the very long term option as far as eco-cars are concerned so getting in there now just has to be a good idea.
This year at Geneva the FCEV is making its first appearance in Europe; the controversial yet sleeker-than-sleek design is sure to catch the eye of every onlooker and the plan is to roll it out in America and Japan next year; Europe will follow (hopefully) soon after.
Honda NSX Powertrain
If you are into supercars, you will get the chance to check out the new powertrain layout for the NSX Supercar; Honda tell us that;
"The model showcases the longitudinal, V6 direct injection engine with twin turbo alongside Honda's innovative 3 motor Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All Wheel Drive ) hybrid system."
2014 Civic World Touring Car Championship livery
Finally, to celebrate their victory in the 2013 World Touring Car Championship, Honda will be unveiling the livery of this year's 2014 Honda Civic racing car.
Honda will be showing off their longevity when it comes to Formula One with a look at the 1964 RA271 that made its debut at the German Grand Prix Nurburgring and let's not forget the turbo charged RA168E back in 1988 that broke records.
